KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Deliver budgeted/forecasted cost reductions by assigned commodity.
• Identify Cost Reduction opportunities based on:
• Benchmarking data and key cost driver analysis based on capacity analysis at suppliers, product and process improvements, implementation of new technologies, execution of competitive sourcing process and commodity market trends.
• Lead resolution, including management and communication with Global Commodity Suppliers and internal partners.
• Support supplier selection process and work collaboratively to seek cross-functional input toward improving overall impact.
• Understand supply base structure, financial strength, book of business, manufacturing/engineering capabilities and processes, open capacity, strengths and weaknesses.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and a Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management (focusing on operations management and strategic sourcing are preferred)
• Proven experience developing global suppliers on various countries for Propulsion Electrical/Electronic commodities, ensuring smooth launches or transitions
• 10+ years relevant experience working in global environments, preferred
• Experience with manufacturing processes and able to develop cost models based on cycle times, labor rates across different countries and efficiency rates.
• Experience in a team environment of conflicting opinions, ideas and solutions and provide clear direction to reach alignment of all partners.
• Solid understanding of legal terms and conditions applied on Global contracts with suppliers.
• Experience in developing manufacturing processes to industrialize new product designs, cost models to assist in negotiations with suppliers for production material/capital equipment and mathematical models to understand relationships between factors driving costs.
• Proven experience developing global suppliers on various countries for Propulsion commodities, ensuring smooth launches or transitions.
• Ability to speak a foreign language, preferred.
• Able to travel up to 50% of the time.
