POSITION SUMMARY

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for an Electronics Hardware Architect for our eHW Innovation team at our Technical Center in Bascharage, Luxembourg.

In this role, the Hardware Architect will participate in hardware related projects ranging from advanced concepts to prototype delivery for components targeted for electrified vehicles. 

This activity will include hardware architecture analysis and design as well as testing. You will be part of a multi-cultural, multi-disciplined product development team working on projects involving multiple locations.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop Power Electronics Hardware block diagram related to On-Board Chargers, DC-DC Converters and Inverters.

  • Define interfaces for hardware design (Product Mechanization Drawing - PMD)

  • Document hardware blocks (Product Definition Document - PDD)           

  • Simulation using CAD and CAE tools to support the hardware and controls software design

  • Develop product functional test plan

  • Perform product functional hardware bench testing

  • Analyze issues and coordinate their resolution

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Master’s Degree in electrical engineering

  • 3+ years engineering experience

  • Knowledge of inverter, dc/dc converter and/or battery charger topologies. Experience developing Power Electronics for EV’s and HEV’s a plus.

  • Familiarity with development of automotive embedded systems, system simulation and modelling tools (e.g. MATLAB/Simulink). Controls experience is a plus

  • Familiarity with general lab equipment, Scopes, Meters, Debuggers

  • Familiarity with automotive industry performance norms and Safety standards such as relevant UL / IEC  / ISO regulations

  • PC Literate: MS Office, CAD programs, Simulation tools

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Active engagement in a multi-disciplinary , diverse design team spread across the US, Asia and Europe

  • Fluency in English is required
