Reporting to the Senior Manager Global Engineering Aftermarket. Supplier Development Engineer Aftermarket is responsible for ensuring that components and products are consistently manufactured in full conformance to specified requirements. Applies knowledge and a solid understanding of product and process engineering. Drive supplier operations improvement designed to produce reductions in lead time, inventory, PPM/total cost, manufacturing system. Provide technical support (Quality and Engineering) to suppliers in the development of their manufacturing systems to produce BorgWarner components.

• Carry out on-site evaluations and assistance visits to suppliers to improve the performance of the supplier and achieve the objectives of the corporation in the areas of Quality, Cost and Response. These activities include potential supplier QVR, design reviews, control plan audits, product audits, problem resolution activities.
• Responsible for qualification (PPAP) of new products, relocation and product changes.
• Definition and monitoring of corrective and preventive actions to reduce supplier rejections.
• Establishment of SPL programs with suppliers and monitoring of SQA and SQD.
• Review supplier component design to ensure they meet specified tolerances.
• Management of the supplier development system.
• Visit suppliers for PPAP approvals.
• Application of quality statistical tools.
• Check that the specifications of the components are in accordance with the drawings.
• Evaluate supplier's machinery and equipment to determine repair and replacement needs.
• Development of plans for specification lines and capacities as required.
