Controller

This position is responsible for providing financial leadership to the Business Lead, staff, and organization to ensure achievement of business results, while also ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the financial books and records of the plant through the management of accounting, financial reporting, internal control/compliance, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management

  • Serve as business partner to the Business Lead and assist in providing strategic and tactical direction for the long-term financial success of the plant.
  • Provide early warning on all business trends that affect the performance of the plant including P&L, balance sheet, and operational issues, while identifying probable causes and solutions.
  • Oversee and manage all financial reporting and accounting functions at the plant.  Accountable for timely and accurate month-end closing, forecasting, quoting, working capital, and fixed asset management.
  • Coordinate the annual budget and long-range planning (LRP) process in a participative and strategic fashion that stretches the plant to optimal achievement.
  • Cultivate continuous improvement through a mentality of cost reduction and lean thinking in the plant and drive this mentality into daily action.
  • Interpret and communicate complex financial information to both financial and non-financial management.  Establish and track plant performance against metrics that effectively capture plant improvement, but which are easily understood.
  • Serve as a steward of operational investments including evaluation of new business opportunities, capex and management of working capital.  View make vs. buy, expansion and other investment business cases through a broad strategic lens.
  • Ensure an effective internal control environment with polices/procedures that comply with US GAAP, ICFR (Internal Control over Financial Reporting) and Company Policy requirements.
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships within the plant and across business unit and corporate global strength functions to drive operational financial performance.
  • Effectively manage, evaluate, monitor, and develop employees under your influence to drive maximum operational performance and further employee career advancement.  Seek to be a net exporter of finance talent.
  • Other projects and responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the facility

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum ten years’ experience with increasing responsibility
  • Strong US GAAP knowledge
  • Manufacturing accounting experience required.
  • CPA or CMA (or equivalent)
  • Master’s Degree or MBA preferred 
  • Prior experience with SAP/ERP and/or HFM/Hyperion
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • 5 years of managerial experience
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Fluent written and spoken English skills
  • Strong Understanding of internal controls/ICFR
  • Auditing/Public Accounting preferred
