This position is a member of the Global Manufacturing Engineering team, who supports the plants with new process innovation and manufacturing standardization. The responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer primarily focus on the development of scalable assembly processes for next generation battery products.

Your Responsibilities

  • Development, definition and optimization of testing processes at component, module and system level for CEV batteries (function, performance, end of line, integrity, leakage)
  • Membership close collaboration in product development teams regarding test objectives and requirements
  • Planning and executing proof of concept/validation tests
  • Test supplier selection in collaboration with line project team
  • Support and execute continuous improvement projects for installed testers in all BorgWarner Akasol plants
  • Ensure lessons learned and best practice transfer between all BorgWarner Akasol plants
  • Continuously expand internal technology portfolio of testing methods and suppliers
  • General support with other processes
  • Willingness to travel within Germany and abroad

Your profile

  • Degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering) or a related field
  • University or higher education degree in mechanical, electrical or mechatronics engineering 
  • 3+ years manufacturing experience with high volume series production and processes 
  • Experience with statistical and problem solving methods 
  • Proven experience with project management 
  • Structured and diligent work style 
  • Ideally: experience with development of testing processes 
  • Strong team and communication skills, as well as a sense of responsibility
  • Excellent MS Office skills
  • Fluent in German and English
