BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for a “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Global Manufacturing Engineer – GME Product Development.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

  • Develop new Manufacturing systems in the Product Development process for Automotive Electrification Products.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Global manufacturing engineer developing and optimizing large volume production manufacturing solutions for new electrification products.
  • Owner of manufacturing system design for product, process and equipment throughout pre-production product design cycle.
  • Work with Mechanical Design engineering to optimize design for Manufacturing and Assembly.
  • Participate in pre-production prototype and validation builds in engineering proto laboratory.
  • Lead or participate to new production equipment projects with external machine suppliers, from machine specification to equipment sourcing, design, build and qualifications phases.
  • Work with production plant manufacturing and other competencies to ensure successful product launch into serial production operations.
  • Create, specify, approve and/or release engineering documentation, including component/assembly prints and drawing, printed circuit board design requirements, PFD's, PFMEA's, equipment SOW, purchase requisitions, and equipment qualification plans.
  • Design, specify and release robust and manufacturable electrification product assembly, sub-assembly, printed circuit board assembly and component designs using established design standards – and, as necessary, create new manufacturing design standards.

EDUCATION and QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master of Sciences in Mechanical, Automation or Electrical Engineering.
  • >5 to 10 years of experience of Manufacturing Engineering in automotive or mass production environments.
  • Leadership capabilities and experience in technical area.
  • Thorough knowledge and exposure to some of the following technologies: automatic assembly, screw driving, air leak testing, laser welding, Siemens Step7 PLC control programming, robotics and vision applications.
  • Knowledge and exposure to lean manufacturing principals and their application.
  • Ability to read, and preferably create, comprehensive mechanical, electrical and pneumatic drawings and schematics using specified software (ex. AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
  • Analytical, technical and statistical skills. Good problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of the Organization.
  • Capability to work in a multi-cultural and multi sites/regions organization.
  • Detail oriented, target oriented and self-motivated.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Readiness for domestic and international business travelling (up to 30%).
