The group leverages this understanding of powertrain clutching technology to develop interactive control systems and strategies for all types of torque management.

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as a Product Engineer at our Power Drive Systems Changnyeong (PDS CN), Daegu R&D Center.

In this role, and under direct supervision of the Product Engineering Supervisor, the Product Engineer will be primarily responsible to support the areas of process development, process implementation, process improvement, and cost reductions. The individual will serve as a technical resource for maintenance, quality, product engineering and manufacturing; and will work within teams to ensure the most effective operation of our processes.

Key Accountabilities

  • Supporting customers by providing technical, design and product application guidance to meet customer needs.
  • Get and provide required global supports.
  • Regularly interfaces with Manufacturing, Quality & Test Engineers and Program Management to address all aspects of product design and function and insure smooth production launch.
  • Functions as primary liaison between customer and all company activities.
  • Issues and follows through on appropriate internal documentation to provide full engineering to customer for product sale and service.
  • Follows customer requirements based on Morse TEC PDP procedure
  • Maintains application engineering evidence data
  • Checks designs per design guides and lessons learned
  • Communicate with global engineering teams
  • for knowledge and performance of the quality systems and standards of BorgWarner
  • Troubleshoot problems encountered in current processes.
  • Generate ideas and complete actions to reduce costs.
  • Work on issues to eliminate problems by identifying root cause and provide solutions.
  • Assist in product launches.


  • Bachelor's Degree (±16 years) in mechanical engineering related is required. 
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in developing powertrain related automotive products
  • Experience in design, development and release of new products
  • Overall understanding of gasoline and/or diesel engine system
  • Components and machining design, and manufacturing requirements
  • Good understanding of the TS16949 quality systems.
  • Preference to applicant with experience in the below
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Good computer skills in Microsoft Office products.
