POSITION SUMMARY
The Applications integration architect develops a strategy and partners with delivery teams to design, develop and maintain efficient and high-quality integrations connecting data, applications and third parties that support business processes and customer needs. 
The application integration architect also monitors and analyzes existing integrations to improve their performance and efficiency, including defining and maintaining measurable metrics.
The role involves designing and implementing integration architectures, developing integration workflows, and providing technical guidance to ensure successful integration projects. 
The successful candidate will manage and supervise the integration activities delivered from third party service providers through managed services agreement and project statements of work. 
The application integration architect will plan and lead activities to clone, separate and integrate middleware components as required by acquisition, divestiture, and business transformation of the company.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining roadmap for solution architecture and the strategy for reducing the total cost of ownership.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
•    Design, develop and implement integration solutions to enable smooth data flow and connectivity between different applications and systems.
•    Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather integration requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
•    Design, develop and implement integration workflows, data mappings, and transformations to ensure accurate and efficient integration processes.
•    Developing, demonstrating, and publishing generic representation of deployable integration patterns, implementation procedures and integration best practices
•    Maintaining the inventory of communications and data flows and providing overviews of the connections between systems
•    Focus on application concerns including cloud-ready distributed application architectures, migrating workloads to containers, containerized development workflows, and integrating container platforms.
•    Plan and implement maintenance activities, technology refreshes, patching and upgrades and coordinate downtimes and the required business communications. 
•    Coordinate integration testing and regression testing for middleware changes and changes to source or target applications, per the change management process.
•    Collaborate with external vendors and partners to integrate third-party systems and applications.
•    Develop and maintain project plans for all upgrades, enhancements and project deployments
•    Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in application integration and recommend improvements to existing integration processes.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
•    Bachelor's degree in information systems management, computer science, engineering, or related field required; a combination of education and experience may also be considered.  
•    At least eight (5) years related IT work experience, to include experience focused on middleware integration, preferably using IBM solutions.
•    Familiarity with cloud-based integration solutions
•    Relevant certifications in application integration technologies or platforms (optional, but preferred).

KEY COMPETENCIES
•    Enterprise Service Bus & Integration middleware’s (preferably IBM CloudPack for Integration) 
•    Integration protocols and standards (REST, SOAP, WSDL).
•    API Management. 
•    Hands-on experience with business requirements gathering/analysis.
•    Keen understanding of change management and testing requirements, techniques, and tools.
•    Working knowledge of application containerization tools, preferably OpenShift
•    Understanding and experience with IT general controls and audit processes.
•    Experience with ERP integration, preferably SAP / ALE integration. 
•    Experience working with Agile development methodologies.
•    Ability to lead complex, cross-functional problem-solving initiatives.
•    Automotive industry experience preferred.
•    Results-driven with ability to collaboratively problem solve.
•    Continuous Improvement experience and mindset.
•    Ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
