BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is seeking a "dynamic, highly energetic, results driven" individual with a solid electrical hardware and software background that can apply their skills within our High performance global manufacturing test development teams.  

 

The chosen candidate will contribute to the design of high tech, high volume, state of the art test systems with dynamic technical solutions and deploy them globally to our manufacturing sites within USA, Europe, and Mexico.  The candidate will assure that the design standards are followed, and in some cases will be required to develop new standards.  The candidate must be able and willing to travel when required.

The Test eHW Development Engineer, will work under the Global Manufacturing Engineering Structure and will report to the Global Test Manager.

Job Duties:

  • Work with a BorgWarner standard PXI system built on TestStand, LabView, and LabWindows CVI
  • Use TestStand and Switch Executive to build an automated functional test
  • Create test mechanization
  • Write SOW to purchase fixtures, load box, and testers
  • Collaborate with systems and electrical design engineers to define test requirements, product test software, and test loads
  • Debug test software and hardware systems
  • Implement Six Sigma test limits
  • Conduct peer reviews of test plan
  • Install test setup in manufacturing plant on time
  • Complete test requirements documentation
  • Work with team to review and add tests for functional safety

Requirements:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience writing functional test software.
  • Experience using statistics to set test limits
  • Familiar with the use of TestStand to create functional test plan
  • Experience with Switch Executive a plus
  • Experience reading electrical schematics required
  • Experience debugging functional test equipment required
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Works well in group settings
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated
  • Must be willing to travel internationally
