BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently seeking for a talented, experienced leader to join as the System / Software Regional Engineering Excellence Manager – Electrified Propulsion Systems. Be a change agent to support the organizational transformation of the electrified drive systems and software teams to achieve ASPICE compliance goals.

The Electrification System/Software Regional Engineering Excellence Manager uses demonstrated systems/software experience and lessons learned to drive the Process Deployment Engineering team proficiency in applying the BorgWarner engineering development process (Electronic Development Framework - EDF) to projects and manages the improvement and maintenance of existing processes by following the development rules of the Systems/Software group. You will be the organizational champion to drive project teams’ achievement of ASPICE compliance goals.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Deliver BorgWarner ASPICE process capability via the internal Process Development Framework (EDF) and tools to the organization to meet project deliverables,
  • Ensure EDF adherence for all new programs awarded to PDS through the deployment of Development Process Engineers assigned to each project team,
  • Collaborate with other Engineering Excellence teams to ensure solutions are continuously improved (Process and Tool Development, Agile, and Project Management),
  • Drive hiring and training of regional personnel and expansion of systems organization,
  • Lead the project deployment team through the standard EDF project kick-off and set-up procedure,
  • Develops and monitors systems/software process metrics to verify/validate effective and usage of implemented tools – report project/process performance on regular basis,
  • Aligns tools to optimally meet systems/software process requirements,
  • Proactively analyze systems/software process trends, identifies opportunities for improvement and develops solutions,
  • Uses demonstrated systems/software experience and lessons learned to drive engineering project teams to achieve their process goals and leads project teams in the usage of PDS evolving Processes, Methods and Tools,
  • Develops training curriculum and transfers knowledge of the BorgWarner EDF process, roles, and responsibilities to the engineering teams,
  • Works closely with the engineering teams to monitor performance of the systems and software processes,
  • Identifies and escalates issues for non-compliances,
  • Drives continuous improvement of best practices – look for synergies across projects,
  • Coaches and mentors new team members upon team leader request,
  • Manages customer communication regarding ASPICE status,

Your Profile

Mandatory

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or Software Quality Assurance competency
  • Good written and oral communication skills and good interpersonal skills; effective working as a team member
  • Experience delivering a system/software product
  • Proficiency in using tools from one or more of the following tool domains: ALM, PLM, BPM, Requirements Management, Configuration Management, Work Product Reviews, Tool Integration, Cybersecurity, or Functional Safety
  • Experience in using engineering V cycle development processes
  • Working knowledge of ASPICE, ISO26262 (Functional Safety), and ISO21434 (Cybersecurity)
  • Process area expertise
  • Coding standards

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Agile practices
  • Tool Development process

Educational Requirements (R = Required / P = Preferred)

  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree (R), MS (P)
  • Major: Computer Engineering (P), Computer Science (P), Electrical Engineering (P), Software Engineering (P)
