POSITION SUMMARY

Provide world class Quality Engineering technical support to the manufacturing areas and product launch activities that meet or exceed customer expectations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Be responsible for Production Quality Assurance Planning for new or modified products and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Be responsible for the submission of PPAP documents to customer.
  • Develop application of quality specifications in both the customer requirements and product specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with team member and keep making continuous improvement on quality system.
  • Establish a robust feedback mechanism for customer satisfaction data.
  • Seek opportunities for continuous improvement through the application of lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Establish a robust corrective process throughout the product delivery process.
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of product non-conformity and system deficiency
  • Strictly abide the EHS rules and regulations and behavior guide line in the plant; wear PPE in right way; actively participate in EHS training; do housekeeping at work; report accidents and unsafe issues immediately join the accident disposal.
  • Any other tasks assigned by supervisor
  • Identify and implement improvements with manufacturing teams that reduce product cost, improve quality and maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure the maximum safety, quality, capability and utilization of manufacturing/processing equipment and processes.
  • Continuously research and implement “Best Practice” manufacturing/processing methods and processes.
  • Facilitate new product introductions and current product modifications.
  • Review and quote processing and production equipment and tools.
  • Ensure that effective documentation and control systems are developed, utilized and maintained.
  • Determine, justify, and coordinate the purchase and implementation of new equipment and processes jointly with manufacturing teams; track tooling and AR expenditures.
  • Assist in the design and build of manufacturing/assembly/processing equipment and processes.
  • Resolve issues through robust problem-solving processes, such as 8D’s and 5 Why’s
  • Coordinate or perform as needed, machining, process diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, calibrations and operating procedures.
  • Coordinate and perform special studies, DOE’s and analysis.
  • Review and make disposition on non-conforming materials. Represent BorgWarner on related issues.
  • Prepare and make presentations to customers, employees and all levels of the management team.
  • Coordinate and manage outside contract projects.
  • Coordinate and manage specialized processes such as heat treating, welding, soldering, etc.
  • Utilize a teamwork approach to achieve goals with particular emphasis on Production Teams and AQP Steering Committee activities.
  • Provide technical leadership, training and support to manufacturing teams as well as to peers.
  • Perform other activities as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related higher technical education
  • Experience in:
    • advanced quality planning (APQP),
    • control and measurement equipment together with measuring techniques,
    • usage of techniques to analyze cause of defects/nonconformities,
    • usage of Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles,
    • machining and assembly processes.
  • Excellent communication skills,
  • Knowledge of PPAP requirements and problem solving methods,
  • Fluent in English language,
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949
  • Experience in suppliers development,
  • Working knowledge in MS Office products and SAP environment
  • Understanding of quality systems
  • Communication (verbal and written) skills for both internal and external customers
  • Project Management Experience
  • Knowledge of the automotive industry and customers (nice to have)
