Position Summary

The Sr. Financial Analyst will be a strong leader within the Drivetrain Systems Finance team. This position will work as a business partner for R&D departments by building relationships and collaborating with the R&D team to evaluate and analyze business plans and forecasts and help guide strategic decisions. Additional work includes financial reporting, analysis, forecasting, internal controls/SOX compliance and general ledger accounting. This position is based in Auburn Hills, Michigan. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Work closely with functional leads at the PTC to provide regular analysis of R&D cost/revenue, headcount reporting and other spend for forecast and budget
  • Assist PTC functions with capital project spending requests ensuring alignment to budget/forecast and accurate AR spending
  • Communicate and schedule regular reviews of functional cost center performance vs. budget and assist in the identification and implementation of corrective actions to ensure target achievement
  • Support BU Controller in monthly reporting including Actuals and Forecast analysis and follow-up
  • Drive consistent process improvements and efficiencies
  • Manage the month end close process for the BU HQ including: supervisory work of intern, timely and accurate month-end closing and forecasting including reconciling intercompany balances
  • Ensure accurate and timely balance sheet account reconciliations reporting for quarterly reviews
  • Implement and continually monitor business controls to ensure BW policies and financial goals are met
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain appropriate support
  • Assist in preparing PTC budget and long-range plan
  • Complete year-end tax reporting requirements
  • Provide support to the reporting units as needed
  • Special Assignments – Responsible for completion of special assignments as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 5-7 years of experience with increasing responsibility
  • CPA, CMA or MBA a plus
  • Experience with SAP and HFM a plus

Must be detailed oriented and have excellent organizational and analytical skills
