Commitment to Safety: Celebrating Global Safety Day & a Major Milestone
On 9th September, we proudly celebrated our Global Safety Day while marking a significant achievement—receiving the prestigious President’s Safety Award for reaching 1 million worked hours without a recordable incident.
To recognise this milestone, $5,000 each was donated to both Macmillan Cancer Support and The Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease, reinforcing our commitment to making a positive impact beyond the workplace. Our Plant Manager, Dr David Bate, presented the award to our dedicated safety representatives, acknowledging the collective effort that made this achievement possible.
The day featured a range of interactive safety activities, including CPR and resuscitation training, working at heights demonstrations, PPE best practices, and hiking safety. Andy’s Man Club was on-site, promoting the importance of mental health and wellbeing—a crucial part of overall safety. Safety doesn’t stop at work, so we also highlighted the importance of staying safe in everyday life, from outdoor activities to personal wellbeing. Experts and vendors provided valuable insights, reinforcing our ongoing commitment to protecting our people both on and off the job.
A huge thank you to everyone involved—together, we continue to build a safer workplace for all!
