eMobility Advanced Research Center (eMARC)
BorgWarner has built the eMobility Advanced Research Center, a benchmark in advanced technology research for the future of mobility. The initiative was supported by the Xunta de Galicia through the Galician Innovation Agency under the program for creating new business research centers.
The facilities are now fully operational, offering capacity for more than 150 research positions. The project involved an investment of more than €12 million, covering the acquisition of land and the completion of the first construction phase.
The center features modern office spaces, state-of-the-art laboratories, and dedicated areas for scientific activity and technology dissemination.
BorgWarner Emissions System Spain acquired two plots in Porto do Molle, within the Technological Area of the Nigrán business park (Pontevedra), from Zona Franca de Vigo, where this cutting-edge research hub now stands.
Teams at the eMobility Advanced Research Center are composed primarily of highly qualified professionals in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Physics, and Mathematics, supported by auxiliary staff, maintaining a high qualification rate above 95%.
