Lead Systems Engineer

DUTIES: BorgWarner PDS (USA) Inc. seeks a Lead Systems Engineer based out of our office at 3800 Automation Ave, Auburn Hills, MI 48326.  Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address.  Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address.  Note, this position does not require travel.

Responsible for delivering on Systems Engineering commitments by working across engineering competencies, suppliers, and partners; leading technical development, from a feature perspective, with cross-functional team through the development and verification of electrified propulsion systems; leading the technical analysis, trade off studies, FMEAs, design reviews and customer presentations; negotiating the technical requirements, scope and subcontract deliverables for features; interpreting Functional Safety (ISO 26262) requirements for the product development team; supporting the definition and continuous improvement of systems engineering processes, methods, and tools; and other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related degree and 60 months of experience in the job offered or a related automotive systems engineering position. Experience must include: experience working with eMachines, Power Electronics - including motor drive inverters; experience using requirements management methods in a structured tool, including Polarion; experience working with ASPICE and ISO 26262; experience using analysis techniques, including FMEA and FTA; experience conducting system modeling in SysML and/or other system modeling software applications.
