POSITION:      Mechanical Quality Technician                              

DEPARTMENT:      Quality Systems

REPORTS TO:         Quality Services Supervisor (Metrology)


PPAP – Organize documents, review for correctness, ensure compliance to customer requirements, and submit PPAP documents (PSW, Dimensional Layout, Material Certs, IMDS, MSA, Process Flow Diagrams, Performance Test Results, Supplied Component PSW, etc) to the customers via Automotive OEM portals.  Respond accordingly to any questions from the customer and drive to full approval.

Coordinate storage of PPAP Retain Samples

Conduct statistical studies, including MSA and capability studies (R&R), as required

Setup WinSPC workstations and troubleshoot any data collection issues as Admin software role

Read and interpret GD&T on prints

Participate in the layered and IATF system audit process’s

Ensure that measurement devices used are current for calibration

Maintain internal records per IATF 16949:2016 requirements

Create and Revise Documented Info as Required (Metrics, Flow Charts, Procedures, Work Instructions, etc)

Backup support to mechanical gage calibration, repair, and maintenance

Back Up support to provide layout and inspection support to internal/external customers using various measurement equipment.  Types of equipment include: Hexagon CMM, Contourcord 1600D, Rondcom41C, Surfcom, MircoVu Vertex, Keyence IM, Optical Comparator, Micrometers, calipers, drop indicators, comparator, etc.

Back Up support for Change Management Process

Define and perform reproducible measurement methods using various precision measurement equipment. 

Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve Quality Metrics

Education and Experience:

* 4 - 6 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including minimum 3 years in the USA

* IATF experience

* MS Office Software experience

* Manufacturing/Process Statistics (SPC)

* Gage Validation (R&R)

* Demonstrated Proficiency in Mechanical Inspection Techniques

* Advance Print Reading – GD&T

* Document Audit Experience

* Mechanical Aptitude
