General Description

  • In this role, the eMotor supervisor is responsible for electric motor electromagnetic design and analysis, manage and execute with respective CAE team members who are responsible for electric motor electromagnetic design, thermal analysis, CFD simulation, structure analysis, NVH simulation and test.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead electric motor CAE team to deliver prototype EM, thermal, NVH, structural design and analysis report
  • Standardize all related design & simulation process, correlation, and report
  • Continue to improve CAE team’s competency
  • Responsible for electromagnetic design of motors to meet the cost and performance target
  • Responsible for leading EM design benchmarking, developing competitive EM design and optimization process, and improving product competency.
  • Responsible for supporting new business opportunity quotation and delivering customers with simulation and technical feedbacks
  • Responsible for calculating transient and steady and duty thermal performance and optimize the cooling design to meet thermal requirement
  • Work closely with global product and R&D team for continuous motor development

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Master or Doctor degree in Electrical Engineering is required
  • 3+ Years of experience in CAE group management is preferred
  • At least 5 years’ experience in electric motor design in automotive industry is required
  • Deep knowledge of motor principle (PM and IM): dq theory, electromagnetic field, control method, etc are required
  • Deep knowledge of heat transfer theory is required
  • Deep knowledge of EM and thermal software (Maxwell, Motorcad) is required
  • Experience of electric motor mass production is preferred
  • Good knowledge of programming (Matlab, C++, Python) is preferred
  • Good written and spoken English is required
