During these unprecedented times, BorgWarner recognizes the difficulty our employees may have in achieving premium discount points for 2021 and scheduling spouse surcharge preventive visits. Please see below for alternative point options and how to earn them for 2021.

2021 Wellness Points Updates

Due to the COVID-19 impact on healthcare and our work arrangements, there has been a change to the total number of points needed to get the best premium discount for 2021 medical plans to 4 points instead of 5 points. The deadline to earn all points needed for 2021 is still September 30, 2020.

You still have the ability to earn the standard points if you would like to, but there are now several alternatives available to these options. Please see the in the download box for more information and links needed.

The alternatives to earn points towards 2021 medical premiums include:
  • Completing the Cigna Health Risk Questionnaire (HRQ): no alternative for this point
  • Completing a preventive dental cleaning/exam: completing a Metlife Financial Wellness Webinar
  • Completing your biometrics screening (you do not have a threshold to meet for 2021): completing a coaching option through Cigna
  • Completing an onsite clinic visit (if available) OR registering for MD Live telehealth services by going to www.MDLIVEforCigna.com: no alternative for this
  • Completing your annual physical, colon cancer screening, mammogram or well-woman visit: completing an EAP webinar sponsored by Cigna
  • Registering as a first-time enrollee as of 06/01/20 or after for Livongo (if you have been diagnosed with Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes) or Omada (if you are determined to be at risk for Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes per Omada's eligibility quiz)

2021 Spousal Surcharge Update

The requirements to waive the spousal surcharge have been changed as well: if your spouse is covered under your medical insurance, they will only need to make sure they complete the Cigna HRQ prior to September 30, 2020. They will need to do this by logging into their own account at www.myCigna.com

*Please note that these alternatives and changes to incentive points are currently only in place for 2021 premiums*
