With very high energy densities on system level and in our view the most compact liquid cooling, our battery systems have very low space requirements and emit only little heat. These are the ideal preconditions for a long battery life with a high power output for a safe, reliable and durable operation.

Serial Production According to IATF 16949

To fulfill our clients‘ automotive standards, our battery systems for bus applications are developed and produced in an automotive IATF 16949 compliant environment at our headquarters in Darmstadt/Germany. And where necessary, we fulfill additional, project-specific requirements.

Flat Module Architecture (FMA)

Flat Module Architecture will play a major role in the future light to heavy duty commercial vehicle market. The modular concept with a voltage range of 350V - 750V, usable energy of up to 50kWh within a flat architecture ensures to serve the wide range requirements of the market with the highest energy density.

More Energy for the Long Haul

The ultra high energy battery system AKA CYC uses the new cylindrical cell battery modules with very high energy density. It’s robust and scalable, and acquisition costs per kWh are comparatively low. In comparison to what current technology permits, this new technology will allow electric vehicles to increase their range by more than 60 percent. This system is developed for long-distance traffic, e.g. buses using overnight charging facilities, intercity coaches and trucks.

*** Nominal energy and capacity of the battery system, based on the datasheet of the cell supplier at 0.2C charge rate and room temperature. This energy content is underlying natural degression because of unavoidable chemical processes, including calendric and cyclic aging of the cells. The cell aging is dependent on usage parameters like temperature, power, state of charge and energy throughput over time.

The system is compatible with the standardised PHEV modules of all major OE manufacturers. Technology for Flexible Applications

The AKARack is revolutionary due to its characteristics – it offers very high energy and power density in combination with its flexible scalability. Thus, it is the ideal solution for applications in a power range from 5 kW to approx. 50 kW.

With 6.6 kWh to 40 kWh in stored energy, it is outstanding for use in industrial and construction machinery, such as small excavators or front loaders, as well as in the 48V on-board power supply system in commercial vehicles, and even for small boats. If output of more than 50kW or even more energy is required, the 48V systems can also be operated as a AKASystem AKR PRC in parallel.
